Pap Tests

Pap tests screen for changes to the cervix that could be problematic if not noticed early.

Who should get a Pap test done?

Pap tests are currently recommended every 3 years starting at age 21 for women who have been sexually active, but this guidance is being updated. If you’re under 25 years old, talk to your healthcare provider about when you should start cervical screening.

THU provides pap tests for 25 and under.

Check out the Ontario Pap Test Brochure for information about when to start getting pap tests, how often, and what they mean.

Who should get the HPV vaccine?

In general, women between 9 and 45 years old and men between 9 and 26 years should get the vaccine. The vaccine is available for free to Ontario students in grade 7.

If you would like to get the HPV vaccine or find out more about it, speak to your primary care provider or contact us.
