Drug Checking Test Strip Program

Drug checking is a harm reduction service. Take-home drug checking test strips can provide people with information they can use to reduce their risk of overdose and/or poisoning. For a limited time the health unit will be distributing fentanyl, xylazine and benzodiazepine test strips. Clients can ask for test strips and will be given a testing kit free of charge along with education on how to use the strips, how to interpret the results, and steps to take to stay safe.
