The Timiskaming Health Unit, through investigations, strives to prevent and reduce adverse health outcomes resulting from exposures to health hazards. Health hazards can be biological, physical or chemical agents and may be natural or man-made.
All public inquiries or complaints are reviewed to determine their public health significance. If there is a potential public health concern, the complaint will be investigated by the Environmental Health and Inspection Department, and if required, the appropriate action taken to remediate the hazard. If the Timiskaming Health Unit is not the regulatory agency for the concern, a referral will be made to the appropriate government ministry or authority.
If you have any questions, or require information related to any potential health hazard, please contact the Timiskaming Health Unit.
