Many local organizations in Timiskaming are partnering in the development of a community drug and alcohol strategy. Since forming in early 2021, TDAS members have worked to gather and assess available information to inform a strategy, inclusive of recommendations for action, to improve the current situation in Timiskaming (inclusive of the Municipality of Temagami).
To prevent and reduce the harms associated with substances to improve the quality of life of all Timiskaming residents.
Current Status – Community Consultation
The TDAS is not yet finalized. To create a strategy that is truly by Timiskaming and for Timiskaming, advice, feedback, and recommendations from the public are being sought. To do this, a Community Consultation Report has been developed to share draft recommended actions to address community needs and gather feedback to ensure the planning reflects what is needed in the community both in the short and long-term.
